Weatherly is a 12 Metre class yacht built to compete for the America’s cup in 1958. She won the cup on her second attempt and has been based in Newport as a racing charter boat since the mid 80’s.In 2000 the owner asked us to collaborate with him to create a better interior than the basic set-up at the time. maintaining the principle of keeping an open racing interior where sails can be dragged without obstruction. We designed enough functionality in there to satisfy the mandate and provide a little joy for the eye. a bunk for the owner, a bathroom who’s walls can open up, a simple galley space and seating and storage.
