This stylized bird is carved from a solid block of ebony ( salvaged from a Newport shipwreck many decades ago ). Designed as an attached focal point for a built in desk in a Newport Home. The Black Bird was for a while selected and exhibited at the Newport Art Museum ‘Members’ annual juried show’, before permanent installation in it’s Point section home.
